The storage environment conditions for lighting PCB boards have clear industry standards, and temperature and humidity control is the core to ensure stable board performance. The brand new lighting bare board without surface mount is suitable for storage in a dry warehouse with constant temperature and humidity. The standard storage temperature is controlled between 20 ℃ and 26 ℃, and the relative humidity is maintained between 60% and 80% RH to avoid extreme environments such as high temperature, high humidity, and low temperature condensation. The storage area should be kept clean and ventilated, away from acidic and corrosive gases, dust and oil stains, as well as direct sunlight, to prevent problems such as moisture and oxidation of the board, aging and discoloration of the solder mask, and decreased insulation performance. At the same time, it is necessary to stay away from strong heat sources and vibrating equipment to avoid long-term thermal deformation and structural damage of the board. Sealed packaging should be used throughout the process to isolate external air and moisture, providing a stable environment for long-term storage.
The shelf life of lighting PCB boards is mainly determined by surface treatment processes, and the storage resistance of different processes varies significantly, which is a common classification standard in the industry. The conventional OSP anti-oxidation process for lighting PCBs has high cost-effectiveness and wide applications, but the protective layer is relatively thin. The safe storage period for conventional sealed storage is 3 months. Prolonged storage can easily lead to surface oxidation and decreased solderability of solder pads, resulting in poor soldering and desoldering in the later stage. The lighting PCB with immersion and gold plating processes has stronger stability, excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance, and a standard sealed storage period of up to 6 to 12 months, suitable for production needs of bulk stocking and long-term inventory. Aluminum substrate and other metal based lighting boards can be stored for more than six months under the premise of good sealing and environmental standards, and can effectively adapt to the production and stocking rhythm of various types of lamps.
Standardized storage control and expiration handling guidelines are key to ensuring the quality of bulk inventory of lighting PCBs. When entering the warehouse, it is necessary to store the boards in different categories and zones, and place them separately for different processes and batches. Clear storage dates and expiration dates should be posted, and the principle of first in, first out should be followed for requisition. During storage, direct stacking and heavy pressure are strictly prohibited. A set of moisture-proof bags, desiccants, and anti-static packaging should be used for sealing. The temperature and humidity of the warehouse and the sealing status of the boards should be checked regularly. For PCB boards that have exceeded their storage period, they cannot be directly produced on the machine. They need to undergo solderability testing, surface cleaning, and oxidation treatment in advance. Only after passing performance testing can they be put into use, greatly reducing the risk of defects in mass production and ensuring stable quality of finished lighting products.
